Great Chicken Fryer! : Circulon Elite Nonstick 8-Quart Wide Covered Saucepot
Practical measurements:
Inside width 11 3/4 in. Outside width 12 3/8 in. With handles 16 in wide. High 4 1/2 in. With lid approx 8 3/4 in. Its capacity, 8 quarts, approximately 16 pounds of water. Water weighs approx 8 lbs to a gallon. It can get heavy.
I was looking for a high sided chicken fryer. I was sick to death of grease all over the stovetop and kitchen counters with lower sided pans. I found the fryer, and more with this pot. I also was looking for a 12 inch size with straight sides. This is a pan I use nearly every day for pancakes, frying, stock, soups, chili and much, much more. I have owned this for well over a year... I hand wash, no metal utensils and the non stick is like new and I couldn't ask for a better pan. I do prefer a glass lid, which this has. I own a glass top range and anodized aluminum is the only way for me. My heavy stainless pans just don't heat up quickly on this stove.
This is not a small pan, and uses a lot of real estate on the stove top. Even on the largest burner it does have some colder spots on the outside edges. By rotating the food this has not been a big problem. I am still giving it 5 stars because of its usefulness.
